Switzerland and Cameroon face each other for the first time in competitive football as they will lock horns for the right to top Group G at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.While Switzerland look like the favorites for this game, Cameroon has more experience in the World Cup as this is their 8th time participating in this tournament. Switzerland were Quarter-Finalist at the most recent Euros 2020 while Cameroon was 3rd position at the AFCON 2021.Switzerland come into this game in poor form as they lost their most recent friendly against Ghana and have lost 5 of their 9 matches in recent times .
Despite this poor form, The Nati of Switzerland will be hoping to bring their A game during this match as they will start some of their best players who are players of International standard like their Captain Granit Chaka,Manuel Akanji,Breel Embolo and Xherdan Shaqiri Cameroon on it’s own hand will be looking at this game with a lot of enthusiasm as despite winning just 2 of their last 7 games, The Indomitable Lions believe that if they have to get points in this group, it should be from teams like Switzerland.
Rigobert Song’s Players will be looking to seize every opportunity to punish Switzerland on the counter . Especially  given that Cameroon also has some World Class players like Zambo Anguissa, Andre Onana & Eric Maxim Choupo Moting who is actually in incredible form as he has scored 12 goals in 17 matches. The Bayern München striker seems to have transferred his club form to the national team as he scored a beautiful goal during Cameroon’s friendly against Panama. The whole nation will be relying on Mr Choupo to produce his world class finishing skills against Switzerland.
Switzerland are currently 15th in FIFA’s Ranking while Cameroon are 43rd but this shouldn’t move either teams as if Japan could defeat a high ranking team like Germany, then anything is possible in this encounter.
Given that this is the first World Cup match in which these 2 nations will face each other , How do you think it will end ?
