Cameroonians Really Beat People Up For A Living. Meet Carlos Takam, Get To Know More About Heavyweight Boxer Carlos Takam.

The French expression “Je tape les gens pour vivre” meaning “I beat people up for a living” cannot be tied to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou alone as we now have another Cameroonian making it big in the same profession. Cameroonian born Armand Carlos Netsing Takam popularly known as Carlos Takam is an award winning professional boxer who hails from the Western region of Cameroon precisely from Bamendjou. 

With a total of 48 fights, with a record 40 wins, 28 knockouts, 7 and just 1 draw, Carlos Takam began his boxing journey professionally on December 10, 2005 with his first fight beating  Zinidine Benmakhouf on points. After 18 defeats, Carlos Takam recorded his first defeat on June 27, 2009 against Gregory Tony. 

On 28 October 2017, Carlos Takam went head to head in a boxing contest at the at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales against WBA (Super), IBF and IBO champion Anthony Joshua. Joshua retained his heavyweight title by defeating Carlos Takam in a technical knockout (TKO) in the tenth round. 

Carlos Takam’s sent 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist Tony Yoka back to the drawing board after recording another decisive victory by a split decision in the tenth round. One judge extraordinarily scored the fight 96-94 in favour of Tony Yoka, but the other two judges had different perspectives for the game scoring it 96-94 in favor of Carlos Takam. Takam’s victory leaves Yoka’s career in a perilous position after suffering his second consecutive defeat.
