Cameroonian entertainment is not only limited to our national triangle, we have some of our brothers out there in the diaspora who are making mad waves but yet, they are not celebrated back home as befits their talent and hardwork. So henceforth, we at 237showbiz will be profiling one of such artistes who is selling Cameroonian entertainment and culture to the world at large, every Friday. So today, we will start with one of the most charismatic Cameroonian artistes evolving in the diaspora, a real lady’s man nominated at AFRIMA this year in the category of Best African Act in the Diaspora. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you Chick Nick

Born Chick Arthur Nick, the “Ekosse” crooner is a native of the Nort-West region who grew up in the town of Bamenda. He is an afropop/ RnB music artistes, an instrumentalists and a student in Mechanical Engineering born on a certain October 11 currently residing in China. He confesses to have always been a lover of music from childhood but he did make his first real moves at singing and playing the instruments when he integrated a choir in church. He also formed a  boy band with too of his friends back in the days, they called themselves “Blazzers” he later on started visiting some studios and that greatly enhanced his love for music, prompting him to want to make a career in it.

Since then Chick Nick has recorded decent success in his career with songs like “Ekosse’ and most recently “Controler”. He has been nominated for several awards with the most recent being the AFRIMA Best African Act in the Diaspora. His favourite Cameroonian artistes with whom he will love to work is the “Calee” hitmaker Daphne. Chick Nick released his “Controler” video this year, featured on “Never Lie” with Pascal on his “Pikin Fo Sun” EP. Definitely Chick Nick is one of those young artistes who is redefining R&B in Cameroonian music, a real force to reckon with. And he revealed earlier this year that he is preparing an EP, so hopefully we will be hearing more music from him soon!
