The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon went to war earlier yesterday against Los Calneros of Panama and while Rigobert Song presented one of his strongest teams , It wasn’t enough to break Panama’s defense for 45 minutes.
Numerous chances were wasted by Vincent Aboubakar until the 46th minute of the second half when Eric Maxim Choupo Moting replaced him and in just 2 minutes, Choupo Moting broke the Panamanian defense and scored a goal to give Cameroon the lead .Though the match ended in a draw. Choupo Moting‘s impact was immediately felt in the game and made many question why he was on the bench in the first place .
With this goal, it is safe to say Choupo Moting has taken his form from his club Bayern München & transferred it to the national team.
12 goals in 17 games isn’t something you easily out on the bench especially given the fact that Vincent Aboubakar hasn’t scored in his past 7 matches for the Indomitable Lions and has 2 goals in 8 matches for his Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.Given the impact Choupo has proven to have,the question remains if he should be the one to lead Cameroon’s attack line instead of Vincent Aboubakar in the grandest tournament of them all the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The game against Panama proved that he is our best attacking weapon and showed that he has better finishing, precision and skill than Captain Vincent Aboubakar who missed numerous chances during this match .This game in a nutshell showed why Choupo Moting is currently a better striker than Vincent Aboubakar and why he merits a place in the starting 11 of this team
Cameroon faces Switzerland in their first World Cup game and many wonder If our Lions can beat the Nati of Switzerland. For that to happen, we need a striker who will easily put away the chances given to him and this makes Choupo Moting the answer to this problem.
While Head Coach Rigobert Song has kept his faith in Vincent Aboubakar by starting him in his past 7 matches , Many Wonder if Choupo Moting ‘s 2nd half goal against Panama is a wake up call to the Coach that he has been starting the wrong striker all along and needs to correct this by starting the right one at the World Cup when it matters most .

Nice write up 237 the situation is simple abou is not in form
He has this authority in d team and his past glorys r a benchmark for him being always being a starter but to me let’s forget past glorys and work on who’s in form and in this case choupo comes in w his skills n dexterity
Even the toko should be left out
Let the coach try the new 9 nsame who is in top form for his Swiss cub
We need to perform cuz we hv the strikers n goal scorers not past glory players
Let’s play w those players that hv the play style now and are in form
