Young Boys Fc Cameroonian players Jean-Pierre Nsame and Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu have been selected as the best players of 2020 and best goal of 2020 in the Swiss Super League respectively.
Jean-Pierre Nsame (BSC Young Boys) was the leading player in the eyes of the expert jury, comprising of all coaches and all captains of the 20 SFL clubs, selected sports journalists and coaches of the U-national teams of the Swiss Football Association in the 2020 calendar year.
Nsame defended his title from the previous year, which no player had ever achieved. In addition, the Cameroonian’s accomplishment achieved the third Young Boys win in this category in a row.
The Cameroonian striker earned this award with his incomparable goal instinct. In the 2020 calendar year, Nsame scored 23 goals in 26 championship games and was the top scorer at the end of the 2019/20 season. With 32 goals in one season, the 27-year-old also set a new goal record for the Super League founded in 2003. For Nsame it is the fourth personal SFL award
The above tally made Nsame surpass Young Boys Legend Seydou Doumbia’s 10 year record of 30 goals in a season and in the process improved Samuel Eto’o ‘s 2009 Cameroonian record of 30 goals in a season in Europe in the 21st Century. Becoming the highest Cameroonian scorer per season in a European top flight Championship and becomes the highest scoring African in the Swiss super league.
Ngamaleu is awarded for Best Goal of 2020
Cameroonian player Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu provided the third Young boys award this year. His pirouette with a spectacular flick in the corner in the game on February 23, 2020 against FC St.Gallen was named SFL Best Goal 2020 by the Swiss football fans.
A total of 20 goals were available for the public vote. Each club sent its favorite into the race.
In Conclusion, it was a good night for Cameroon football as 2 of their exports shined in Switzerland as big assets for the Swiss League .
