Ngala-Ndo Ashuembom Amabo, popularly known to her fans as Gasha, was born on March 18, 1991 in Douala, Cameroon. Although a native of the North West Region of the country, she grew up in the economic capital,Douala. Gasha has always been in love with music; she started attending arts and music classes at the tender age of 11. After doing a solo performance at the end of one of her classes, she decided she is meant to sing. She has crafted her unique style of music from the sounds she listened to, artists like Eboa Lotin, Boys 2 Men, D’Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Ottou Marcelin, and so many others who influenced her childhood. She refuses to be boxed into a particular genre of music, so she fuses makossa, RnB, hip hop, Afrobeat and funk, hence making music that transcends all categories and soothes the soul. Gasha is the first artist to sign under the music label Steven’s Music Entertainment. She released her debut single “Kaki Mbere” in October of 2013. She released her debut album “Gasha” the following year. She is now an independent artist powered by TC Concepts International Entertainment & Media Company. She has since marked her arrival to the African and international music scene and has collaborated with some of the best national and international artists like Magasco “Faya di burn” (2014) Eddy Kenzo “Chill” (2015), etc. she has also released some hit singles and videos like “The Date” (2015), “This Life” (2014), “There He Goes (2014) and “I Notice You” (2014). Gasha’s music and her voice has gained both national and international recognition, as she has been nominated for several national and international awards like Canal D’Or, CAMEEA, best female artist in Central Africa in 2014 by AFRIMMA and many others. 2016 is another year of surprises from Gasha….she has some new hit songs still to be released to make us dance our worries away.
