The Coke Studio Africa 2017 Edition has been one of the most succesfull so far. This edition has been able to bring together artists from entirely different genres and backgrounds to pair up, fuse their styles and come up with an entirely new track within a short time. The Coke Studio Africa 2017 edition was home to talents from different countries across Africa. With Just 5 years into the Game ,Coke Studio Africa 2017 has proven to be a melting pot of music talents bringing together renowned music producers and top-notch artists drawn from various parts of the continent. Below is some analysis of the Ranking of Coke Studio 2017 Music Collaborations.
In Episode One. Ivory Coast’s Kiff No Beat and Madagasca’s superstar Wawa Salegy learn more about their respective styles and create amazing tracks creating something special with an african flare affiliated to it. Ivorian rappers Kiff No Beat went in hard with their experienced and unique rap style proving why they are the best Rappers out of Ivory Coast. Wawa Salegy brought in his mature vocals to remind african music lovers that Madagasca is still on the African Map. Episode one was lit with the masteropiece titled “Come back“. The track also recieved mad love from music fans around the world for its originality.
In Episode Three, The Band Beca from Kenya, work with South African mega-star AKA, and the People’s Champ from Nigeria, Olamide, in this episode’s big break. This was an interesting Collaboration between Hit Makers Olamide, AKA and rising Kenyan duo Band Beca. Might not be the most appreciated, but you can feel the originality of the sound.
Episode 4, produced One of the Most talked about and appreciated songs or music Collaborations from the Music project. One of South Africa’s Most Popular Rappers Nasty C, teamed up with Mad over you crooner Runtown to reproduce a Hit song lookalike, with a seemingly powerful delivery. This Powerful Hit Song is not the kind of song you will listen to on a normal day.
Episode 5, Had Cameroon’s Vocal Lord Locko, deliver a star studded performance on the track he featured with RC-born inspiration Tresor. When two artists of this Calibre meet, what more can one expect? greatness. Falling is the kind of track you will want to set as your ringtone. Shellsy Baronet, gets the career-defining chance to work with Ugandan legend Eddy Kenzo and Ghanaian supremo Bisa K’dei
In Episode 6 , Tanzanian Boss, Izzo Bizness, and Kenya’s stunning talent, Avril, join up to discover more about each other’s music and create something special. Forever is a stunning track worth listening to.
In episode 7, Togo’s own star-on-the-rise, Ozane, gets the chance to work with Nigerian superstar, Patoranking, and Tanzanian hit maker, Alikiba. The three incredibly talented acts work on Gueze Remix. Since its release,the remix has been receiving a lot of positive reviews from music fans and it is one of the Favorite Collaborations of 2017.
Also in episode 7, patoranking teamed up with Alikiba and Masterkraft to deliver a perfect Collabo thats curently the fans Favorite. Katika is not the kind of song that you Listen to only once. The Dopeness of this track is on steroids.
South Africa and Nigeria have been topping the Rap game in africa for a while now. SA heavyweight Rapper AKA teamed up Nigerian Wo -Crooner Olamide on this banger titled Kolole. Both rappers deliver quite an impressive perfomance on this one eventhough Die hard rap fans were expecting a more upbeat rap track for both acts to show just how versatile they can be. Kolole is a nice song.
Episode 10 was an International Episode. This episode features Global Fusion between Urban pop mega-star Jason Derulo – one of the world’s most successful songwriters and recording artists, who has sold over 50 million singles worldwide and racked up 11 platinum singles so far, with many more to come. Jason’s presence at Coke Studio Africa created a medium to learning from the unique experience of working with some of Africa’s hottest artists.
