Atlanta based, Cameroonian born Rapper Law G of Record Label Goodlife Music Group is no stranger to the Hip-hop scene. Before deciding to become an urban artist, Law gained popularity in the underground hip-hop scene from his very first project where he teamed up with Good Life’s established artists Issa and Frontstreet which featured the street banger Ray Allen.
It was only a matter of time before street moguls like Bigga Ranking and other underground labels came knocking, but Law decided to continue his journey with his original team, Good Life Music Group. As the buzz traveled to different states, his songs “I need that” and “No more mixico” were released. It was not till he released “Ghost” from his very first mix tape project “Came a Long Way” that Law’s music career took an exponential trajectory. The #1 hip-hop artist at the time Gucci Mane quickly realized the diamond in the rough and called Law up for a studio session which led to his official first song in the urban scene appropriately titled “Know Me” featuring Gucci Mane, and the rest has been history from there. His second video which has not been officially promoted, No Love features hip-hop O.G Big Bank Black was leaked and could be found on the Internet.
Success has not come easy for Law who has survived a few incidences of gun violence amongst others. In all his progress and struggle, law has sought out the very fast growing African music industry to team out with some of its legends to bring a unique blend of sounds.
This talented trapper/Rapper who was raised by the streets of Bonaberi in Douala could be heard on a track with one of Cameroon’s street artist that rose to fame winning and several awards like the acclaimed Afrimma awards, Gasha. Law jumped on one of her iconic songs “This life”, and shot the remixe’s video no where else but in Atlanta itself. His adventure into the Afro music scene has just begun, as he has touted tracks with Eddy B, Taybid, Magasco amongst others. Images can be seen of him spending time with ivorian staple, DJ Lewis and Cameroon’s jewel, Mr. Leo. We can only imagine what master pieces would be carved.
As anxiety builds to discover what else this true to its sense African-American would dish out, his instagram is flooded with songs he has done with well known artists like Jazze Pha, Tori Lanez, MikeWillMadeIt, Yakki and YFN Lucci of which rumor has it, their song “All I ever wanted” may be next. We can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
