J.KELR, best known as one half of the chart-topping production duo Blended Babies, is a recording artist/producer/multi- instrumentalist based out of Los Angeles. While completing his undergraduate studies in Sound Recording at Columbia University Chicago in the early 2000’s, he joined forces with his college buddy Rich Gains to form Blended Babies, and went on to become a RIAA Certified Gold producer and one of the brightest talents to emerge from the early days of Chicago’s indie music renaissance. He has produced records for countless major label and indie musicians including Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, The Cool Kids, Vic Mensa, Chance the Rapper, Black Keys, Freddie Gibbs, Mac Miller, Allen Stone, ZZ Ward, Ab Soul, Pouya, Taylor Bennett, and Njomza. As a solo artist, J.KELR collaborated with Minneapolis rapper Finding Novyon on a joint project entitled ‘Believe in Mpls’ released in July 2016, and most recently with Lorine Chia on their ‘Remedy’ EP. J.KELR has become synonymous with the highly infectious, in-demand sound of his creation, and takes pride in producing, playing multiple instruments, recording, mixing and mastering all of his projects. With the release of her triumphant debut mixtape ‘LORINE’ immediately followed by her pitch-perfect ‘NAKED TRUTHS’ sophomore LP, Lorine Chia quickly established herself as a favorite among industry insiders and indie music bloggers, garnering the highest praises from the Wall Street Journal, Pitchfork, Billboard, and Vibe. Incorporating a striking fusion of alternative, acid jazz, and futuristic R&B/soul music, her work was hailed as both delightfully nostalgic and refreshingly innovative. After receiving placement on Def Jam recording artist Jeezy’s 2015 single “Sweet Life” with Janelle Monae, Chia performed the song alongside the rapper on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden. Since then, she has released ‘ONOMATOPOEIC’, ‘INTRODUCTION TO SWEET NOISE’, and ‘WHEN MORNING COMES’. Touting praises from leading tastemakers including Rolling Stone, Complex, FADER, and Rookie Magazine, Chia has collaborated with The Game, Wiz Khalifa, Jim Jones, The Cool Kids, Jamila Woods, Chance the Rapper, Lili K, and many more.
