Termed by many to be one of the biggest concerts in Cameroon this year, the “two dated cities concert” that was held in Douala on the 18th of April and two days later in Yaoundé was the topic on every lips at the first quarter of the year 2019. It was a crowd pulling event as many purchased their Tickets and Johnnie Walker Red Label whisky inorder to get a pass to watch their favorite artistes perform live. With the headliners Nigeria’s Tekno and Cameroon’s Jovi at the forefront, with other top talented artistes like Ko-c, MiNks and Shura who acted as openers to the big guns, there’s no reason why the show was not going to be a blast as we all witnessed!
The Johnnie Walker Concert can be described as the best concert of the year so far because of the sound, stage, organization and the amount spent in booking these artistes. Talking to Daddy Freeze about his surgery which affected his voice, Nigerian superstar Tekno disclosed that he was paid the sum of $110.000 which is a whooping sum of 64.570.000XAF for the weekend in Cameroon for both shows. He further went to explain that he needed the money inorder to carry out his operation. Watch a snippet of the video below!

A very close source disclosed to us that Stevens Music Entertainment singer Shura was booked for 500.000XAF, While Ach4Lyf’s rapper MiNks and Big Dreams Entertainment rapper Ko-c walked away with 1.500.000XAF each while Cameroonian rapper Jovi was paid 2.000.000XAF per show.
Do you think our artistes should have been paid more ? What do you think of show organizers feeding foreign artistes fat and leaving “crumps” for our own artistes ?
What are your thoughts about these prices ?

Paying less to home art but expect much work..too poor, why will Davido not say he knows just 2 art in Kamer,
stupid post, you better résearch well before you post rubbish
That’s pathetic.
Tekno was a mess on the stage… Jovi pulled all the crowd, he should have been paid higher
It’s our fault though, we don’t give value to our own music and artists
God will punish Cameroonian organizers.the Don’t support their own.what did tekno even do at the show.the don’t wan to support their own.As stanley Enow said “the are all stupid “.tssupssss
Hmmm. Wanders shall never ever end. This Cameroon ehh. Hmm. I now understand why stanley enow was insulting this stupid companies. I didn’t even see teckno’s performance ohh. Make i no lie. I see na ko c and jovi. I just very angry me ya. Hmm
Jovi deserved something more that that
Sad how a foreigner received the highest share of the pay…
Before I use to think cameroonians don’t value artist because the artist haven’t proven their worth but this particular show I termed it Jovi’s show as an artist tho upcoming I have witnessed the way organizers downgrade home talent…indeed our artist in spite their hard work were given crump and until we learn to accept and value what we got we will never be where we want the industry to grow…Nigerians built their industry by given value to their every artist and supporting each other but Cameroon…in salatiel’s Voice I’m not much of a talker
this is a very sensitive situation.i can understand that everyone seems to be shocked about the difference in the treatment. i will like just to shoot out the fact this is not only with artists.
You see that eveeywhere in our society. how much do they pay local agency vs agency coming abroad for the same job?in my point of view it’s our responsibility to change that by been more organized and demanding as well. can we speak as a team? Difficult to say yes.
They say charity begins at home but in this country it’s the reverse. Jovi should be paid highest and he made the show. It was a Jovi show not even Tekno
