Cameroonian dancehall artiste, Donaldo, has released the video of his hit single “Dodo Dance” produced by himself and directed by Bawe Grey & Techno Brian.
Dodo Dance, though entirely sung in French and not the usual Jamaican Patois, the song’s instrumentals (known as Riddims) that are widely used in dancehall can be clearly heard. “Dodo Dance” along side his other single, “Amour Pationnel” were released in 2018.
Dodo Dance came to live when he met Le Capitaine Tcho-Tcho (also known as Barbe Noire), with whom he has been working after facing many difficulties. Before this, he had worked with old names in the Cameroonian hip-hop milieu like Lady B, J.Jack and Rhalyms. His 2017 single, “Fantastik” received airplay and topped the charts for weeks in VRJ.
Dodo Dance is a song that was recorded after the artiste had gone through a tough journey of deception as well as self-discovery that has marked a brand new chapter in his music career. The fruits of his past experiences – confidence, boldness and fearlessness – all put together can be seen in Dodo Dance.
Thanks, nice song
