Cameroonian rapper Pascal has reacted publicly to Jovi’s recent revelations about their past issues, confirming nearly every detail shared by his former mentor except one surprising point involving an injunction letter.

In Jovi’s recount of events, the New Bell Music founder explained that when Pascal left the label, he told Jovi his parents wanted him to return to school. According to Jovi, he supported the decision and in good faith, handed over all of Pascal’s music and beats so the young artist could start afresh. Jovi said he later discovered through blogs and news outlets that Pascal had instead signed with a new label. The confusion deepened, he added, when that label allegedly sent him an injunction letter demanding payment if he ever wished to work with Pascal again.

Following the circulation of Jovi’s statements, Pascal dropped a brief but telling comment “Wandas” under a Beta Tinz Instagram post, sparking fan curiosity. As requests for clarification poured in, the rapper agreed to address the matter directly.

Magasco Delivers A Breath-taking Show At The Yaounde Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

“Magasco Au PAPOSY” was probably the most anticipated event this December and it was so for many reasons, but for a lot of people they just wanted to see if an Anglophone artiste can fill up the Yaounde Multi-purpose sports complex. Well, they sure have an answer now. Maybe an Anglophone artiste can fill up the hall but 22^nd December was not the day that was done. Despite relentless efforts by Magasco, his team and that of several fans and well-wishers who would have loved to see Magasco shutdown the PAPOSY, it just did not happen. The number one question on everyone’s lips will most certainly be “What happened?” Of course we will look into that, but that will not be done in this write-up.

I mentioned in an article before this one that the real deal was to give a good show and not really to shut down the hall, and talking of a good show Magasco killed it. In an unprecedented display of emotion Magasco proved to the world the young Tohnain Anthony Nguo who used to sell “Okrika” in Bamenda is now a full-fledged artiste loved by many and a very generous discography at his disposal enough to move any crowd. The first part of the concert kick started with several upcoming acts such as Fidjil, Sojip, Mbekool, the beautiful L’Or and others. The effervescence in the hall grew significantly as Pascal made his entrance with “Check Sense part 2” and he had Mihney join him on stage, this performance marked the end of the first part of the Golden Show.

Magasco can safely be called a unifying agent in Cameroon entertainment, his concert was not only a very decent show, and it was also a meeting place for a lot of artiste. Magasco performed most of his hit tracks and the songs that have lifted him to the level of a continental star but what turned out to be the most scintillating performance of the night was “Zamba” he was joined on stage by Jean Greg Belobo, Cameroon’s best opera singer and a support choir. Before the performance Magasco spoke about the crisis and dedicated his song to it, asking the crowd to pray for God’s intervention in the crisis. He even shed tears in the heart of the emotion, we saw a very concerned son of the soil who is wary about the current situation back home. The other performances where all very amazing with several artistes from far and wide joining Magasco on stage. I am talking here about Shan’l who joined Magasco to perform “Love it”, Mimie, Rythmz, Ko-C was on stage too, Locko came to perform “Power 3” and for the big surprise of the night there was Singuila who joined Magasco to sing along on “Belinda”, the duo was so good on this song that Cameroonian Soul diva Charlotte Dipanda could not help but be on her feet for a dance.

The Golden Boy also got people whose contribution in his career has been invaluable on stage to thank them. Notably Pazzo Sangtum, in Magasco’s words “Voici mon pere, mon mentor, mon tout, si je suis ici aujourd’hui c’est grace a lui”, he was also joined on stage by Alexandre Song and Idriss Carlos Kameni who are both professional football players. And to crown it all, in respect to the tradition of saving the best for the last, the “Wule Bang Bang” hit maker brought his mother on stage. He expressed his most profound gratitude to the public for the amazing support, he thanked the Empire Company team for the support and the concert ended in the very early hours of Sunday morning.

The Golden Show was a resounding success; it was the kind of concert fans want to see their favourite artistes do. There was no playback throughout the show, instrumentals only and the artistes who came along had to impose their natural voices on the sound. Once more Magasco has proven to be one of Cameroon’s musical and cultural MVP’s, it shall forever be written that on December 22^nd, Tohnain Anthony Nguo from the slums of Bamenda town was the first Anglophone artistes to deliver a great show at the most coveted hall in the country, the Yaounde Multi-purpose Sports Complex. Congratulations to Magasco, his entire team and all his fans, that was definitely a once in a lifetime experience

Hello 237Showbees! Trust the festive month started well for each and everyone of you guys. We are here once again with another countdown which we will appreciate you go through and tell us what you think!

The Cameroon Entertainment Industry most especially in the music domain, has witnessed some humble and kind gestures despite the fact that the industry suffers from a few ills such as greed, jealousy, pride and the willingness to overshadow everyone. Notwithstanding, there has been a few appreciations from some top artistes today directed towards their mentors or role models who once upon a time held their hands to foster the growth of their career. Without wasting much of your time, let’s see what our countdown looks like;

3. Mr Leo – Partout

Mr Leo is to many one of Cameroon’s top male artistes and performers. The multiple award winning Alpha Better Records Singer and songwriter has recorded a good number of hit songs and recently he just added two more to the list. The « Jamais Jamais » singer can never forget the fingers that fed him at the debut of his music career and that’s why on our top 3 countdown, we place him 3rd. In his hit single titled « Partout » Mr Leo gave accolades to Salatiel and Blaise B his label mates for holding him from the very start. In his words he says

« Blaise B, Salatiel and my people they got my back a moment with my fans and I’ll always be back »

Here, Mr Leo openly says no matter where he goes, he will always come back to his mentors Salatiel and Blaise B.

2. Stanley Enow – Hein Père

Unarguably known to be Cameroon’s biggest hip hop single which earned him Cameroon’s first ever MTV Base Awards in 2014, Stanley Enow in his lyrics gave accolades to fellow artiste and media personality Tony Nobody. He has never stopped showering praises to the latter since the release of his hit single Hein Père. In his lyrics he goes by saying and I quote

« Thank you Tony Nobody this is me huh »

This is a lot of appreciation for what Tony Nobody must have impacted in the career life of the Motherland Empire frontline artiste Stanley Enow and to put this in his first and hit single. The deeds of Tony Nobody must have been really worth the praises. He gets our second spot!

1. Pascal – King Don Kam

Taking our first position in this short countdown is no other person that ILE’S Pascal Yung King AKA Pikin 4 Sun. The former Strange Kings and New Bell Music employee is one of the finest lyricists and storytellers in the Cameroon music industry. His accolades towards his former boss Jovi LeMonstre earns him our first spot. What did he say in the song King Don Kam off his EP Work Dey Volume II The Prelude. In his words, he showed Jovi appreciation by saying;

« Shoutout to the hommie Jovi Jovi picked me from the gutter brought me to the city and he put me on his team, and crowned a young nigga king, so bow down in the presence of a motherfucking king »

The truth about this line and realness from the rapper’s words earned him the top position of our countdown!

Will Cameroonian Record Label Strange Kings Still Be Spending 100Million CFA On Investments This 2018?

I know many of you may be wondering what this is all about. Others must have already started “Google Searching” the word Strange Kings and it’s relationship with 100.000.000CFA. Well, this is going to be one of the shortest write ups we’ve written so far, this is because we just want to quickly remind our followers and the above mentioned former Record Label of both Benzil and Pascal Yung King.

It is clear Pascal left the Label long time ago and as for reggae artistes Benzil, The last we heard about him was that he had gotten into business and thereby putting music on hold till Lord knows when. “Too much talent in one body” so his fans keep weeping every time his name is mentioned on social media.

Some few weeks after Pascal left the Record Label Strange Kings, the Label took to their official Facebook page to make the statement you shall find in the screenshot below.

We all pray to have bigger investors pump in funds into our infant industry and make the best out of it. That’s why we are raising up this issue and we are tabling down the following questions;

– Will the label still spend 100.000.000CFA on the heads of their artistes in collaboration with Hit54 Studios as they promised to spend?

Or rather will the label consider 2018 a failed here and plan for 2019?

– Apart from WAZIH, Who is (are) the lucky artistes?

We are asking these questions because several months have passed and still nothing to show for it. When it comes to studios in the country, they have one of the best modern studios you can ever find. The studio Hit54 Studios have opened its doors to top celebrities and musical legends such as former Cameroon international footballer Samuel Eto’o and Charlotte Dipanda respectively, we are just listing a few here.

New Bell Music rapper Jovi was LIVE yesterday evening on his Facebook page. The Pimentcam crooner who has been getting much criticisms about his music videos is now applauded after fans watched the spectacular Pimentcam video put together by Cameroonian director Ndukong. While LIVE on his Facebook page, the rapper was asked so many questions. One which got our attention was when the rapper was asked who his favorite Cameroonian MC is. Without hesitation he responded.

Pascal remains his favorite MC. This is kind of shocking because if Jovi still believes in Pascal, that means he cares about the Paapi crooner. Big question is, should Pascal move back to New Bell Music or focus on his career as a solo artiste? From all indications, it seems as both rappers still keep a good relationship and may work something together later in the future.

More so, Pascal’s absence from the scene seems to have given enough room to work and ”cook” something which seems to be wavy and might come forth soon. Breaking Gossip: Cameroonian Singer L’or Finally Leaves New Bell Music

This seems to be record label exit week, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. L’or

whom you may remember collaborated with

Pascal

in “Manka’a” seems to also have left Jovi’s New Bell Music. After Shey, Pascal and Tilla who are all from New Bell Music, now L’or seems to have added to the list. She has been highly neglected in New Bell Music, as Jovi, Reniss and Tata have all dropped new music in recent times but we are yet to hear from her.

Fortunately, she seems to have decided to break the silence as she will be dropping a freestyle video tomorrow, which is her first solo video since she got into music.

Moreover, she is slated to be present on TIA Radio Show hosted by the King of the Radio Nabil Nabstar tonight at 9PM on Sweet FM and she was introduced as an independent artiste in their press release.

Well, considering the label’s policies, we all know, it is very rare to see artistes from New Bell Music granting interviews and going for TV and radio shows. Surely this is a confirmation of her departure from New Bell Music.

Where Is Benzil & The 100 Million Strange Kings Promised To Spend On Him In 2018? Fans Worry.

By the end of last year 2017 exactly November 1, during the period of the Strange Kings versus Pascal Yung King Brouhaha, the record label took to their social media pages to announce an important notification about Pascal and any other record label ready to work with him since the rapper was in a contractual relationship with the label. See press release below.

Why fans kept worried and wonder why both parties were crashing, the record label clearly announced a month later on the 17 of Dec 2017 and I quote

“2018 is going to be a good year. SK is going to invest over 100 million in partnership with @hit54studios. #WeLoveOurIndustry #BENZIL2018 #ForTheCulture”

This was one of the biggest announcements of last year by any Cameroonian record label. Unfortunately, we are getting to almost a half of the year and there has been no sign of Benzil or the label promoting his music and making the big money moves. Strange isn’t it?

Although there’s 6 other months ahead, one can say there’s still time for Strange Kings to make big moves on the artiste Benzil as the announced last year but when we turn around and see the Tenors and Maahlox’s trying to shut down Paposy, then we need to have a rethink.

However, Strange Kings has been putting out music through their uprising singer WAZIH who recently dropped a soul touching piece titled “I Will Find You”. While the song was produced by Geega, Geraldrico shot the visuals.

The rap genre and hip hop atmosphere is a warfare with punchlines and shots coming from every direction. All you need do as a victim is to internalize the pain and prepare a clap back. For your reading pleasure, we decided to put together a few punchlines indirectly meant for some Camer rappers. Read and tell us what you think.

1. Kikoh – Mukum

These lines by Kikoh were inarguably directed to the King Kong Stanley Enow. Moreover, Stanley released his Tumbu Tumbu track before Kikoh’s Mukum.

These lines were indirectly blown towards Stanley Enow during the era when their beef was really on fire. Although Jovi has many shots fired towards Stanley’s direction, this happens to be the most obvious.

L’or is a singer, songwriter and talented guitarist who captured the hearts of many of her fans when she recorded two of her verses on Pascal Yung King (Former New Bell Music Rapper’s) song Manka’a and I No Kam Fine. She also featured on Tata’s single IÇI Ever since then,the fans have been waiting patiently to hear from her. Worried fans are beginning to think that the label seems to be paying less attention to her. Others are saying she’s just being lazy and needs to work more.

Apart from featuring in Reniss‘ video Pilon and Jovi’s Mongshung and 20BA videos as an actress and a vixen, there has been no signs of the singer doing her own thing. No update on her social media platforms for her fans to know what she has been up to. Rumour has it that she stopped singing a while ago. However, these rumours seem to be false as she can still be seen in the label’s official website www.newbellmusic.com under the sub menu for artistes.

Can she be termed the Black Sheep of the group? Why has she been silent all this while? Fans keep asking. We hope she’s working on her EP as it is clearly stated on her info on the website although the specific year or time wasn’t mentioned.

Before we conclude, bare it in mind that New Bell Music have their own way of doing things, they’ll hardly hype or create much awareness whenever they are about to release a new project. Call it their own strategy or label policy. We just hope to hear from L’or anytime soon. You’ll agree she’s too talented to be silent this long.
