Some persons said it was due to pure bad faith from the public, others said it’s a thing of jealousy while the more rational ones complained about the delivery of home artistes which according to them isn’t attractive enough to warrant people displacing themselves and paying money to consume it. This event also lead to artistes in the Cameroonian music industry to take up the challenge, which is shutting down the Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex in a concert and Maahlox in his usual daredevil nature is the first to step up to the challenge.

At less than two weeks to Maahlox’s concert, support has been great so far, the public and his colleagues have all been very involved in creating awareness about the concert, but the question whether or not Maahlox can fill up the more than 5000 seat sports complex still lingers. Given that Maahlox is one of the most castigated artistes in the Cameroonian music industry due to his penchant for verbally attacking people on social media and also because of his frequent use of foul language in his music. He is also largely criticized for constantly bringing up, what a lot of people consider as taboo topics in his music.

Maahlox too is acclaimed as a Street King, he is seen as a hero by the everyday ghetto man as he exposes the things that characterizes the life of people in the ghetto and enclaved parts of Cameroonian urban centers. He does has a lot working for him as rumours have it that other artistes such as Valsero, Krotal and others will be accompanying him while other stars such as Dynastie Le Tigre have already confirmed their presence. The tickets for this concert are available in all Santa Lucia supermarkets in Yaoundé at cost prices of 2000frs for basic seats and 5000frs for VIP seats. What are your thoughts on this, can the “Ca sort comme ca sort” hitmaker actually fill up the Sports Complex or is his move just a result of over ambitiousness and wishful thinking? Reports claim the Rapper has Sold 3007 tickets already. Will Maahlox Create history? Only time will tell.

Cameroonian rapper and Zone2Rap front artiste Maahlox who plans to fill the over 5000+ capacity sports complex has been getting full support from his colleagues and some went as far as confirming their presence. Daphne, Salatiel, Ténor, LOCKO and Jovi just to name a few.

Things took everyone by surprise when one of Maahlox Levibeur’s biggest enemies in the game Dynastie Le TIGRE supported Maahlox and confirmed his presence on the 26th. This is one of two of the most unexpected people the public expected to show support for the Ça Sort Comme Ça Sort hit maker.

However, we all know Stanley Enow a.k.a King Kong doesn’t get along with Maahlox since like forever. In an interview with Fredy Christel on Kalak FM, 94.5 on the program Urban Buzz the radio presenter said to Stanley Enow he dreamt the Motherland Empire boss was present in the Maahlox concert and the fans were screaming his name with all love.

In response to the alleged Fredy Kristel dream, Stanley said the radio presenter is lucky he wasn’t beside his sleep or in his dream in the concert, else he would have given him a dirty slap. This is a clear indication that Stanley doesn’t want to associate himself with Maahlox in anyway. Remember Maahlox wasn’t nice to Stanley Enow when he was doing his US tour and several shows abroad. However, if Dynastie can show support, Stanley can.

Moreso, it is obvious the complex will be filled with many of Stanley’s rivals like Jovi LeMonstre etc. Thus Stanley wouldn’t want to associate himself with such company.

Many of you will want to agree with me that beefing in an industry is very entertaining. Well, it is more entertaining when the artistes involved resolve their issues. Just yesterday, it was known everywhere that Bikutsi Queen Lady Ponce got the self proclaimed King of Yaoundé Music, Maahlox arrested for not respecting the terms of a contract for the SEFEDI concert which he was paid the sum of 500.000F as first installment. Hours later, both French Speaking artistes where seen in photos sharing a drink and eating in a bakery somewhere in Yaoundé. Also, Dynastie Le Tigre who also sued Maahlox for disrespecting him and throwing curses on him had to stop pressing charges on the rapper.

Have you asked yourself why the anglophone artistes adopt the French lyrics and leave out the Love and Unity?

Avant ce rejet, aucun artiste n’avait encore fait cela depuis les 13 ans d’existence de cet évènement culturel. Il a décrié le caractère mafieux de certains acteurs de la culture camerounaise plus précisément celui des organisateurs de shows qui privilégient certains artistes par affinité ou en contre partie de « leurs âmes » ce qui fait d’eux des « lécheurs de cul » ce que lui il ne fera jamais car il dit être un vrai artiste validé par la rue voire le ghetto. Pour ce fait, il ne se voit pas entrain de se salir les mains pour recevoir ce qui lui appartient déjà.

C’est donc ainsi qu’il remet en question les méthodes selon lesquelles certains artistes à l’instar de Stanley Enow, Dynastie Le Tigre et bien d’autres ont été nominés et ont reçus des trophées. Lors de son récent concert au palais polyvalent des sports de Yaoundé le 03 février dernier , le créateur du mouvement MOUF(Mental Organisation Union Force) a encore montré à ses « haters » de l’industrie du showbiz qu’il peut seul et que leur avis ne comptait pas dans sa carrière qui ne cesse de marquer les esprits depuis la sortie en 2013 de son clip « la bière C kombien ici?». C’est ainsi qu’il s’est pris indirectement en riposte sur l’artiste Dynastie Le Tigre qu’il a surnommé « le pleureur sur podium ».
Dans une récente publication sur sa page Facebook le 04 mars, l’artiste décrie encore cette mauvaise manière de faire dans l’environnement artistique camerounais. Il explique comment le Festival SEFEDI(Semaine de la Femme Diamant) qui a pour promotrice notre célèbre artiste du bikutsi Lady Ponce a essayé de lui faire passer pour «un artiste en herbe » en lui demandant de faire la première partie de Dynastie et Coco Argentée malgré le fait qu’il est déjà un artiste confirmé.

« JE SUIS ACTUELLEMENT L’ARTISTE LE PLUS INFLUENT DE LA MUSIQUE URBAINE AU CAMEROUN QUE VOUS LE VOULEZ OU NON ».

le dit-il. Pour cette raison, il a donc annulé son passage. Il rappelle ensuite que, s’il n’a pas fait la première partie des artistes comme NISKA et MHD, il ne fera pas celui d’un artiste qu’il ne considère pas. Il conclu ses propos tout en disant que

« on va finir par arriver au niveau ou les artistes viendront de Mbeng pour faire les premières parties de nos concerts.

Mel B who was interested in working on a collabo with Dynastie Le Tigre as she always responded on TV and interviews whom she will like to work with on the same song felt devastated after she got into contacts with the “Dingue De Toi” singer via WhatsApp and sent him a sample of the kind of beats she’ll like for the two of them to work on.

Mel B on TIA Radio show claimed before sending the audio file to Dynastie Le Tigre via WhatsApp said she greeted the artiste saying “Bonjour”. Seeing this as not enough or because it didn’t come with a heart or kiss emoji, Dynastie began throwing insults at her. Mel B says Dynastie said she couldn’t even think of asking him how he slept before sending him the beats.

She added that Dynastie said he was going to destroy her career and that she’s a nobody and nothing but his little sister in the music scene. Dynastie went on adding that Mel B Akwen only an upcoming artiste who is still trying to see the light and could never afford to pay him the sum of 3.000.000CFA which he demands from other artistes.

Mel B felt disappointed in Dynastie as she always looked up to Dynastie not only as an artiste but someone who sends out music respecting women.

Well this seems to be that kind of juice still in ice blocks and difficult to drink up. I wonder why she kept this to herself all this while.

Now in Cameroon, we are witnessing the era of Urban music, which is mostly influenced by western cultures. In fact it is so influenced by the West that some person of the old school think of it as an an adulteration of music. But even in this whirlwind of Western inspired music some artists of the younger generation are succeeding to blend in the urban style with traditional Cameroonian music genres, thereby striking a balance between modern entertainment and cultural relativity of our music. We have been thrilled by a lot of soundtracks that relate with our indigenous traditional rythms, in this light artists like Kareyce Fotso , Charlotte Dipanda, Locko, Daphne, Dynastie Le Tigre, X-Maleya and some others can be earmarked as the torchbearers of the marriage between contemporary urban music and Cameroonian cultures. First,they all to a certain extent bring in different Cameroonian mother tongues in their lyrics, this factor serves as a bridge between different eras and age groups at a time when mother tongues are gradually losing their uniqueness and the interest of the youths is gradually being shifted to occidental languages, it is quite elevating to hear young musicians integrate these languages to their music and notorious among the young generation of artists doing this are Charlotte Dipanda, Dynastie Le Tigre and X-Maleya and this move of theirs is simply praise-worthy .

Next, the inclination of some of these artists to adopt traditional folkloric rhythms is also a major factor concerning cultural relativism given that these rhythms evoke some nostalgic feeling in the older generations while introducing the traditional music paths to the younger ones ,artists like Kareyce Fotso and Locko have made wide use of this feature and the hard work is evident in the success of their music.

Finally, the inclination of the younger generations to work on sound tracks with legends of the old school is an endeavour that reveals the connection between both generations and the good that can come from it .This was clearly shown in Daphne’s collaboration with Ben Decca in “Ndolo” and Locko’s epic collaboration with Makossa legend Sergo Polo in “Fleur et Venus”. These moves taken by the younger generation are quite necessary now, at a time when Cameroonian music is gradually getting lost in the mix of Western Influenced Urban music it is necessary to be reminded from time to time that Cameroon too has its own musical identity rooted in our own various indigenous cultures and traditions.

Although there was a few delay due to a technical faults with the generator, we are glad the concert didn’t end up in a fiasco. Although sources say the likes of Mr. Leo couldn’t perform due to timing. Sad!
Everything was going on well until it was time for Dynastie’s performance. Our sources say he took like forever on stage and his performance became boring. With time running out and the likes of Maahlox were yet to perform, the angry mob began chanting the name ”Maahlox Maahlox Maahlox”. Feeling shy and embarrassed, Dynastie told the angry crowd that he doesn’t  ”Smoke weed, neither does he make music about female Ass and serve to his fans.” then he tossed the mic.

Maahlox on his part during his performance responded to Dynastie saying ”Le Gros Cul De Sa Maman” he later on added that he is the king when it comes to making the fans feel the buzz in the city of Yaoundé.
This is just the part 1. In as much we don’t support beef but unity among artistes, you and I know very well that ”Thid matter no fit finish”
