TATA introduces his label Lunga Sound with TRAP TAP FLOW EP as he joined forces with producer Method J on the 5 track masterpiece.

It is worthy to note that all New Bell Music artistes publish their videos on the official YouTube page of the label. If TATA is creating one today, it therefore means he is no longer affiliated with New Bell Music or his contract with the label is one of a partnership.

Fellow label colleague ISHAKU also created his own YouTube channel and is still an artiste under New Bell Music. If TATA is following suit, then he may still be an artiste under the label but with a different YouTube channel.

The rapper’s 10 year stay with the label blessed his fans with musical projects like Dey No Di Force Love EP, No Holidays EP and Wild Fire EP. We can’t wait to see what the rapper and Lunga Sound has instore for us.

The album comprises 10 tracks with two of its singles “Run Mop & No Way” released earlier is rich in the rapper’s dialect Limbum as he showcases his culture representing his clan and at thesame time switching it up back and forth in English and Pidgin. Listening to the album, you get in the zone of how Cameroon’s multilingual culture is presented on a fine work of art. The albums boasts of two producers, Cameroon’s fecund Jovi Le Monstre and 50 Stylez.

With all songs written by TATA, Contri Ndip, No Way, Involve, New Chap and Black Chief were all produced by 50 Stylez. Tracks 1, 2, 5, and 10 which are Yukani, Run Mop, Ndana, Nje and No Na Me were all produced by Le Monstre.

From his first singles such as Contri Boy (Remix) which featured Pascal and Tilla Tafari former New Bell Music artistes, Tata has been steadfast and maintain his style throughout his musical journey. His verses on a string of singles like “Ndaleh and Banekeh” featuring Jovi LeMonstre on the latter, “ICI” which he featured L’or right up to his latest EP entitled Wild Fire which was released on February 9th 2018, Tata has been that traditional/vernacular rapper who raps more with lyrics written in his mother tongue. It is however unarguable that in every music industry most especially is Africa there exist one indigenous rapper who does everything in their native language. Some fans may love the styles, others may advise that the artiste switches or mixes a little bit of French, English or any other international languages better understood by many.

Having the likes of Tata Paul amongst us can be considered an asset because not all industries can boast of an indigenous rapper. We aren’t just blessed with Tata, but also we have other rappers like Memanz who carries with him the Bayangi and Ejagham roots. Memanz is a contestant currently in the semi-finals of 237Showbiz Music Competition.

Last Friday, team New Bell Music release an EP compilation of 4 tracks which had all its artistes at least on a single song. RENISS in Face 2 Face, Jovi in Inside, Rachel in UCU and Tata Paul who was so generous doing it alone had to invite RENISS to spice up the Ambiance track. Tata’s verse was well appreciated as many fans held the views that the rappers song stands out amongst that of his label mates.

Why ? Is this because of the fact that he expressed himself in another language that may be sounded great? Does Tata has something brighter his label isn’t bringing out yet?

Well I for one think he needs to be versatile a little so people can easily relate to the music. Its true music isn’t about the language as anything with great sound can be communicated in whatever language that exists.

Ambiance by Tata who invited RENISS seems to be the most appreciated amongst all because the traditional rapper had to mix some Pidgin English and his normal vernacular to make it more spicy and at the same time showing us his versatility.

RENISS on her part dropped her Face 2 Face contribution on the EP. thoughts.

Although a lot of talks has been going on as to why she seems to have lost a bolt after the tighter mechanism which generated power to bring forth the ‘La Sauce‘ tune.

Rachel, female singer and partner to Jovi on her part also stepped on the EP with the track UCU. just like DJ Petit Piment, I think she needs that extra ‘Cameroonisation’ (I’m not sure that word exists) but making music in a label loved mostly by a people with the afro culture, many think her music is more westernize. I don’t know if that’s a setback but she needs some “Petit Piment” to spice up er melody. Maybe “DJ” can help. They’re both white.

As for Jovi, a lot of people are confused with his sudden change of style and rhythm as he has been singing a lot in his last 4 singles. They miss the rapper they look up to for punchlines and bars, if Jovi is now turning to singing, then almost all rappers will follow the likes of Stanley Enow, Ice Prince and Phyno who switched to singing.
