The Balafon Music Awards BMA is a platform brought to see the light by Radio Balafon in a bid to recompense Cameroonian Musicians, Artistes and Promoters of Cameroonian musical. This year’s edition which happens to be the 6th took place in Douala yesterday the 12th Of December 2018. The latest edition seems to have recorded another success as many nominees actually made it to the award ceremony. It is worthy to note that there has been a lot of criticisms poured on Cameroonian artistes reasons being that they do not support home based awards. However, all amends were made to record a good number of nominees, artistes and other stake holders to give the ceremony the grandeur it deserves.

The very best were nominated in their various categories. However, there could only be one winner for each category. Fortunately for the like of LOCKO, Charlotte Dipanda and Ko-C, the three superstars were caught up in a tie as all three went home with two awards each.

While LOCKO used his previous “Voice Of The Year” to cross “The Bridge Album”, Charlotte Dipanda who invited her sister using her own “Female Voice Of The Year” to spice up her “Sister Video Of The Year” FT Yemi Alade from Nigeria and Ko-C grabbing both Collaboration of the year and most downloaded song on MTN Zik!

Music Duo Featurist is no longer a new name in the Cameroonian Music Industry. In case you need introduction they have to their Music Career Hit songs like Babaah, Elle est Bamileke, Ntouh mbap. Earlier this year, the Duo released a song featuring Daphne titled Allez, while fans are still vibing to this, they are making sure their names stay on all Music platforms be it radio, TV,blogs etc. Their career has been emerging in the right direction day after day, today they grace their fans with a brand new Danceable club Afrobeat banger titled Fame Lah. In recent times where, artist are busy on social media criticizing others to sing in a particular language so as not to be seen as cowards, Featurist are making the right moves in the right direction , creating a blend of pidgin, english, vanicular and french. Le Groupe le plus en vue au Cameroun qui fait dans un style unique de son genre: Afropop…City et Yanstar sont deux artistes de la nouvelle génération qui se singularisent de part leur jeunesse ; (puisque âgés de moins de 25 ans) leur talent et cette envie manifeste de faire chemin ensemble, d’où lè featurist. l’ouverture entre les deux amis démarre en 2005, ils découvrent cette passion commune pour l’art du chant par la suite ils se décident à mettre sur le marché du disque leur premier single intitulé << konlait >>.la chanson est appréciée par bon nombre de mélomanes et fait le tour du pays quelques temps après ; city se met en route pour l’ Europe question de se donner plus de chance et de mieux s’imprégner des règles universelles de la musique. Trois mois plus tard il est rejoins par son coéquipier yanstar,parallèlement technicien audiovisuel de profession. Il a obtenu une bourse d’étude pour deux mois de recyclage dans un centre de formation à Toulouse en France. L’amitié dès lors prend un nouvel élan. city et yanstar se fréquentent régulièrement .entre-temps , pendant ses cours yanstar fait la connaissance d’un étudiant par ailleurs directeur d’une maison de production. Peu à peu le trio se constitua la maison de production sous le label « STAFF » , s’engage à produire le tout premier album du groupe (lè featurist) opus qui s’ intitulé : d’où je viens . Malheureusement yanstar est arrivé à la fin de son stage et doit retourner au Cameroun. Quant à city, il ne lui reste plus qu’un mois de séjour en France .dans un esprit de solidarité et afin d’échapper à toute situation d’irrégularité en France, ils sont contraints de rentrer au pays. En revanche, le départ de yanstar ne constituera en rien un frein à la production de l’album premier du genre intitule d’où je viens. Toujours animé de la même passion lè featurist collaborent à présent avec une nouvelle structure « White House Music» pour le suivi de l’œuvre. En 2014, ils mettent sur le marché ” BABAAH” Danse du grand-père qui va faire danser toute l’Afrque entère.
