It’s with this Ideology that Mimie has decided to quit the label . Whether she is going solo or signing to another label remains a story for another day but as of now , we are witnessing the exit of a star from one the biggest labels in Cameroon

As you all know, 237Showbiz is Cameroon’s number 1 online entertainment portal and the gist and info we bring is rare to find on any other platform. As usual, we were strolling on the instagram timelines of our Cameroonian celebrities and what really caught our attention was the fact that former Empire Company employee Magasco alias Bamenda Boy is following just 91 instagram users and none of these celebrities happen to come from our neighboring country Nigeria despite the impact their entertainment industry has on the planet as we speak. Although he is following some U.S superstars (Rappers) we understand he has a soft spot for hip hop and RnB so this is understandable.

Moreso, it is rare to find African celebrities (Musicians most especially) who are trying to make it bigger in the musical scene in Africa and are not taking into consideration Nigeria as a point of contact. Thus they must be following one or two Nigerians, if not for business, but for “Idol, inspiration or role model sake” the case seems to be different with the frontline artiste of “Bboy Records”

Why isn’t Magasco following a single Nigerian celebrity ? Is he trying to pass out a message ? Does it mean we can still be at the Magasco level while sticking to what we believe ?

Also, for those who didn’t click the link and read the full article will be at the comment section saying “Jovi” isn’t following Nigerian artistes on instagram. So thus, Magasco isn’t the only artiste who isn’t following Nigerian artiste. Remember the caption says “Singer”

Notwithstanding, we can’t say for sure if Bamenda Boy was following Nigerian artistes before, but although a rapper we are aware Jovi was. If not still, then he recently unfollowed.

What is the main reason behind the #SupportYourOwn concept? Well if you ask the common man, he’ll tell you its a move, plan or means for all Cameroonian entertainers to help one another in their various projects. The entertainment industry can be described as a “Njangi House” tables turn, “you chop today, ora man chop tomorrow” with this ideology, there’ll be maximum strength in unity and progress. How many Cameroonian artistes today have really put into practice this theory?

Although many Cameroonian artistes do not practice what they preach, we have to give it up to Cameroonian superstar Magasco for his recent actions and doings can be described as a replica of what the #SupportYourOwn practice is all about.

After his Golden Show at the Multipurpose Sports Complex PAPOSY last December, the Cami Toyottta crooner has managed to hold the hands of a great number of young and uprising entertainers by collaborating with them. Magasco featured in Eddy Bee’s latest single tagged “Beautiful As You Are” which was released 7 months ago, he also held the hands of Eben Entertainment’s Cameroonian signee Mihney is her latest jam entitled “Vas-Y 2 months ago. As if that wasn’t enough, his collabo with Cameroonian singer Jeeno released some 4 months ago is one track that shouldn’t stay off your playlist. Just 5 days ago, his latest collaboration with AfriCam entitled “Killer With” was released.

Notwithstanding, Magasco putting into practice the #SupportYourOwn theory hasn’t been with younger artistes, the BBoy Record Label Boss has successfully collaborated with some colleagues who happen to be at the same level that he is or might be. From the likes of Salatiel, to MIMIE to Pit Bacardi to all artistes on the POWER project, Bamenda Boy has managed to pull through with all this support in less than 2 years.

All in all, with the amount of support shown to other artistes by the former Empire Company artistes on just singles, it is somehow a fact that his upcoming studio album tagged HEART will still put into practice what he preaches!

So, Afrima nominee list is out, and we take this opportunity to say congrats to Magasco and LOCKO who got nominated.

MESHI being what I don’t know, excited or overwhelmed and proud of her colleagues posted the list and congratulated both nominees. She specified the Booboo part for LOCKO and labeled Magasco Bamenda Boy.

Less than a week ago, the French artiste Dadju, had his first ever concert in Cameroon. In a highly anticipated concert which held on 28^th July 2018 at the Yaounde Multi­-purpose sports complex, the artiste had the opportunity to relate with his fans and the organization of the events had home artistes such as Ko-C, Mimie and others perform ahead of him. The event seemed to be a great success as there was great euphoria witnessed among fans, especially the female ones. But Pit Baccardi’s Empire Company who was in charge of the production of the concert thinks otherwise. A few days ago Empire Company put out a press release aimed at informing the general public of the misbehavior of the organizers of this concert who contracted them to produce it. Empire Company decries the withholding of 23,000,000FCFA by Learn Life Events which they incurred at the level of covering various expenses related to the arrival and stay of the French artiste in Cameroon, expenditures which the organizers of the concert claimed they were unable to cover and thus through the Director of Learn Life Events Joel Temgoua a document permitting Empire Company to cover these expenses was signed. Empire Company goes ahead to accuse Learn Life Events of not respecting various norms pertaining to the security of fans in their sale of tickets for this concert. Empire Company also apologized to all fans who had paid for an after party with the artiste given that the after party did not hold and also promised that measures were being taken to assure total reimbursement of disappointed fans, they ended by recognizing and promising to take full responsibility for any mishaps that occurred during the concert especially at any level that they intervened and calling on Learn Life Events to do same, meanwhile  Empire Company is taking Learn Life Events to court on charges of breach of trust and fraud. As at now, Learn Life Events does not seem to have responded to these accusations, and now fans are beginning to wonder if this situation will not create some skepticism among foreign artistes who might ever want to come to Cameroon for shows and events.
