Take note: Not everyone will blow up. Only about 10% of people who try actually get to blow. No one can decide when they gonna blow, it just happens. Many artists have done much promo, worked on their image but they still didn’t blow. Some artists songs have gone viral without them doing any promo and they blew up. So it’s extremely hard to tell why someone hasn’t blown up

You are right in all the aforementioned reasons. It’s quite regrettable and discouraging.
I dont pay recording sessions since I gat my own music studio. But I played a high cost in doing a video to one of my last song to the best Cameroonian Buea based director for 2 reasons; to have a clip with a renowned director thinking he will follow up subsequent promo procedure eg broadcast onTRACE , , secondly I was like, let me do step one (clip) and step 2 will be taken care of by faith(promo) but I was disappointed cuz non of my above 2 thoughts was fruitful…
