This is the best article on the subject I’ve read so far. In every paragraph is a punch line, worded with bitter truths and hard facts. It truly is hard for anglo artist to feel respected by their immediate community because of that “everybody is a star” mentality. Aswear for buea e bad. You could be in a snack and your favorite Music artist steps in and you’ll discover only u feels excited. Not necessarily because “e don sawa” but because of the “everyone is a star mentality”. I still remember the days of “the only KMER celibrity is Samuel Eto’o”… Huh! Supporting an artist begins from creating this hot vibe in the air when he steps in, turnin up for those shows and concerts and paying for it… And standing up while he burns on stage. This simple gestures are alien to most Anglo audiences no matter how much they enjoy his/her artistry. Honour should be given to whom its due. It never makes u an iota less than u are. Anglophone Cameroonians aren’t giving back to artists. And its a fact. they shouldn’t complain if the artist tend to deliver in a language they won’t fully comprehend. Ipso facto.
